Digital Kung-Fu is Digital Media For U! Get your digital black belt during a day of intensive training and workshops at the Centre for Digital Media (CDM).

The CDM is home to the Masters of Digital Media program – a powerhouse master's level degree bearing the seals of Four Universities (UBC, SFU, UBC and BCIT)”

Workshop Schedule:

9:00am - 9:30am
Registration - Coffee will be provided

9:30am - 10:30am
Introduction - Inspirational panel discussion on building successful companies, teams, and business models (e.g. the "Premium to Freemium" model).

10:30am - 12:00pm
Visualizing the Idea - an interactive discussion on developing a visual story through storyboarding and mind mapping.

12:00pm - 1:00pm
Lunch

1:00pm - 2:30pm
Pitching Your Idea - interactive session on building your business plan and team, with a discussion on the art of the pitch.

2:30pm - 4:00pm
(Option 1) Paper Prototyping - Interactive session on how to design a board game and apply techniques of "Agile" design.

(Option 2) Digital Prototyping - Interactive session on designing applications for the iPhone.

4:00pm - 5:30pm
(Option 1) How to create social media games.

(Option 2) "Art of the Pitch" - Pitch your idea to our distinguished panel of judges (following a format similar to the television show "Dragon's Den")

Registration:
ONLY 60 SPOTS IN TOTAL!

Individual Rates:
(Full Workshop) $125 regular/$75 for students and recently laid-off digital media employees

Group Rates:
(Full Workshop) Groups of 5-10: $100 per person
Groups of 10 or more: $75 per person
(Group rates apply to digital media companies and association members)
